PLURAL

In Arabic ,when we use the singular form of the noun we are talking about one person or one thing and when we talk about a group of people or several things we use the plural form , but what if you want to indicate that there is 2 of something , in English for example we can use (two) before the noun ,its different in Arabic because there is a dual form

The dual form :
اشتريت قلمين
ذهب الطالبان إلى المدرسة
أحضرت الكتابين
In the case of the nominative the dual is formed by adding
(ان )
الطالبان مجتهدان
الرجلان كبيران
In the case of the accusative and the genitive
(ين)
رأيت الطالبين
سلمت على الرجلين
The plural form :
There are two major forms of the plural nouns : sound / broken
1)The sound plural doesn’t change the structure of the sigular noun it is formed by adding a suffix its divided into the sound masculine plural and the sound feminine plural and each has only one basic form
The sound masculine plural : is formed by adding
nominative case (ون)
اللاعبون نشيطون
المهندسون بارعون

In the accusative and the genitive (ين)
سلمت على اللاعبين
رأيت المهندسين
The sound feminine plural: is formed by adding
(ات)
In the nominative case :
ات ُ
الفتياتُ جميلاتٌ
In the accusative and the genitive case
سلمت على الفتياتِ
unlike masculine plurals, the sound feminine may apply to non-humans. In fact, a word which is grammatically masculine may be pluralized using the feminine form.
امتحان : امتحانات

2)The broken plural : change the internal structure of the singular noun according to several patterns : This name refers to the fact that this kind of plural involves "breaking" the stem of the singular noun
Irregular plural nouns are always feminine, unless they refer to male humans where they can be masculine
شجرة : أشجار
يوم : أيام
حرب: حروب

طالب : طلاب
رجل : رجال

The irregular patterns:

قلم : أقلام
شخص : أشخاص
سوق : أسواق
باب : أبواب
شكل : أشكال
سعر : أسعار

حرف : حروف
نسر: نسور
صقر: صقور
حق: حقوق

4)فعل : أفعلاء
غبي: أغبياء
ذكي : أذكياء
ثري : أثرياء
نبي: أنبياء

5)فعل : فعلان
صبي : صبيان
فتى : فتيان
شجاع : شجعان
ثور : ثيران

6)فعلة : فعل
جملة : جُمل
أمة : أمم
حكمة : حكم
دولة : دول
قمة : قمم
صورة : صور

7)فاعل : فعال
تاجر :تجار
