NATIONALITIES

Nationalities in Arabic are formed by adding a suffix to the name of the country.
The suffix:
يّ for masculine :
يّة for feminine :
Example:
I am from Egypt, iam Egyptian
أنا من مصر ، أنا مصريّ (m)
أنا من مصر ، أنا مصريّة(f)
This boy is from Greece, he is Greek
هذا الولد من اليونان ، هو يونانيّ
هذه البنت من اليونان ، هي يونانيّة
Mohamed is from Lebanon, he is Lebanese
محمد من لبنان ، محمد لبنانيّ
سارة من لبنان ، سارة لبنانيّ

Countries names that end with:
ا ، يا
Such as:
فرنسا ، سوريا

Or

ـة، ية
Such as:
مالطة ، سعودية

Theses letters are omitted and the nationality suffix is added
Franceفرنسا: فرنسيّ ، فرنسيّة
Syriaسوريا: سوريّ ، سوريّة

Saudi Arabiaسعودية: سعوديّ ، سعوديّة
Maltaمالطة: مالطيّ ، مالطيّة
Some of the country names change when it is formed into a nationality
Such as
England إنجلترا: إنجليزيّ ، إنجليزيّة
Afghanistanأفغانستان: أفغانيّ ، أفغانيّة
Austriaنمسا: نمساويّ ، نمساويّة
